Life is unpredictable.
Over the last few months, we have seen first hand what not having a Will can do to one's family.
We have had clients come to us with a Will urgencies because their spouses unexpectedly passed away. As a result, they have had to deal with a lot more issues than they ever anticipated. Instead of spending their time mourning their loved one, they are stuck trying to figure out everything. Knowing what they know now, they do not want their children to go through the same thing.
A Will is arguably the most important document you will ever need to make. A Will dictates how your life's work should be divided after you pass away; it allows for your children to be taken care of by someone that you trust with that role; it gives you a voice when you no longer have a voice; it gives your family some form of peace when you are gone.
It is officially "Make a Will Month". This month, we urge you to make the responsible choice to make a Will.
Yes, life is unpredictable, but what you want to do with your estate doesn't have to be.
